We are fortunate to offer access to this remote high alpine location via a short 2.5 hour hike without the nescessity of helicopter transport. This option reduces helicopter activity and the impact it can have on resident wildlife populations and the environment on a whole. Keeping our groups small, 8 - 10 guests again enhances an eco-friendly approach.

If you are looking for the comforts of a lodge-based mountain experience, away from the crowds, intermediate to advanced hiking in small groups of max. 10 and located in the pristine corner of the West Kootenays of British Columbia, you've arrived at the right place.
At Mount Carlyle Lodge, daily hiking trips start at treeline
(7200 feet) after a wholesome and delicious mountain breakfast. 20 km of hiking trails and unlimited off-trail trekking and scrambling options are available from the door step on a guided or non-guided program. This affordable hiking get-a-way is ideal for your family, friends or even your business to rejuvinate in the pristine mountain air of Southern British Columbia.
Professional guides accommodate you on your excursions and provide you with their local knowledge and safety. After an enjoyable hiking day at Mount Carlyle, our experienced mountain chefs await you every day with their fabulous mountain cusine.
The hiking season starts at the end of July with the uncountable colours of alpine wildflowers, grasses and shrubs and it ends after the golden larches fill the basins from mid September to mid October, just before the snow hits the ground permanently for the winter.
Mt. Carlyle Lodge is cozy and comfortable with a rustic mountain feel, it is not a 5 star resort, although many of our guests believe to be in heaven! We accommodate up to ten people in 1 double and 2 quad bunk rooms with all bedding provided.
