Leni NeumeierKMH Summer Program Director, ACMG Hiking Guide, Winter Assistant Guide
Leni grew up in the Bavarian Alps of Germany, where she started backcountry skiing, climbing and hiking in her teenage years. From there on, she traveled all over the world exploring new terrain and cultures in South America, South East Asia, Europe and North America and ended up in the Kootenays in 1991. In 1993, she decided to make her mountain passion to a profession and joined the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides (ACMG). Two years later, Leni started her own guiding outfit in Kaslo and has been welcoming guests from all over the world. Her vibrant personality, mountain skills and knowledge in natural history deliver a safe and enjoyable mountain experience.In addition, Leni has also competed in two Eco-Challenge Adventure Races in New Zealand in 2001 and in Fiji in 2002, where she was the navigator for team Advil Canada. In the past winters, she has been active as an avalanche forecaster, instructing avalanche courses, assistant ski guiding and serving up gourmet alpine cuisine! "I am looking forward to sharing time with you either on our backpacking excursions or at the comfortable Mount Carlyle Lodge. Jeff has been traveling in the backcountry for the past 29 years. His mountain career started at the age of 16 in the Austrian Alps, where he worked as a certified ski instructor and began ski touring and climbing. In 1980 he came to Canada and started working his way through the the Selkirk, Purcell and Rocky Mountains.His passion for the mountains lead him to the development, construction and operation of the first helicopter accessed mountan lodge in the Southern Selkirks within the Valhalla Mountain Range in 1987, a second operation was started in the Kokanee Range in 1992 and his third project, the Mount Carlyle Lodge began in 2001. Beyond working at his own lodges, he has worked as a ski guide from other lodges and for various helicopter and snowcat skiing companies within British Columbia. | ||||
